About ValcinTech…

ValcinTech, 50% portfolio page, 50% warrior chant I yell when creating anything, 100%

The word “ValcinTech” was first said during my senior year of high school in joke about me starting a business and selling car parts and other such things. Years later that hallway joke became the of my personal brand that all my projects live under. ValcinTech operates within the sphere of Industrial Design, with a concentration on the automotive world, toy design, kinetic design, and customizable products.

About Me

My name is Amal Valcin-Brown, Canadian born, Jamaican/St. Lucian heritage, car enthusiast, and now an Industrial Designer. My affinity for cars, modifications, and creating complex things led me towards this career path. I originally studied mechanical engineering but immediately switched to industrial design when I first discovered it during my last month of high school. The last-minute change led to me studying at Trident Technical College for one year and transferring to Savannah College of Art and Design where I went on to graduate with a BFA in Industrial Design and a Minor in both Kinetic Design and Package Design. My engineering background, mechanic experience with automobiles, adaptability, and lifelong obsession with cars is what guided me throughout my life and four years at SCAD and I seek to further improve my skills in my field.
